The olive oils supported by the Designation of Origin Estepa and marketed by Oleoestepa have won first and second prize in a new edition of the awards for the best extra virgin olive oils produced in the province of Seville, organized by the Provincial Government.
This is the seventeenth edition of the Awards for Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the Province of Seville, where Oleoestepa has established itself as the producer of the highest caliber extra virgin olive oils as they’ve received awards in the last twelve consecutive editions.
The prizewinning extra virgin olive oil is marketed by Oleoestepa under its gourmet brand Estepa Virgin, certified by the Designation of Origin Estepa, a fruit juice derived exclusively from the most representative varieties of olives grown in the territory protected by the Regulatory Board and collected extra early, in late October. Its sensory profile for the nose is fruity, high in olive leaves and herbaceous aromas with an almond background. For the palate, the sensory profile is harmonious and complex with notes of apple, artichoke and other fruits as well as light touches of bitterness and spice.
This award reinforces the position of Estepa Virgin as one of the most recognized extra virgin olive oils at a worldwide level, having received quality awards from MAGRAMA, International Olive Oil Council, Expoliva, Feria de Montoro, Los Angeles Award and Japan Olive, among others in recent seasons.
First prize was awarded to the ‘La Inmaculada de la Roda de Andalucía’ cooperative, winner of this award in previous editions, while second place was awarded to the Agricultural Roda Cooperative.
